Full Circle Arnis de Mano
Honoring Tradition, Embracing Growth
Full Circle Arnis de Mano is rooted in the rich traditions of Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) while evolving
to meet the demands of modern combat and self-defense.
It integrates traditional techniques with practical applications, making it adaptable, versatile, and
functional for today’s challenges.

A Legacy of Excellence

Professor Lorne Therrien Sr. has been teaching Filipino Martial Arts since 1987.
He was awarded the rank of Lakan Lima (5th-degree black belt) in Modern Arnis and the title of
Master of Modern Arnis by the late Grandmaster Remy Presas.
Professor Therrien is recognized as one of the Grandmaster’s top students.
In 1990, during a Modern Arnis training camp, Grandmaster Remy Presas told Professor Therrien
that he was the most complete martial artist he had ever known.
He encouraged Professor Therrien to create his own personal expression of Modern Arnis.
Professor Therrien, in humility, thanked the Grandmaster for the compliment but did not believe he
was complete – he continues to strive for mastery.

Blending Systems for Completeness
To create Full Circle Arnis de Mano, Professor Therrien integrated the following systems and styles into his Modern Arnis:

Panantukan (Dirty Boxing), Western Boxing, and Muay Thai for striking and trapping.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for grappling, submissions, and ground defense
Filipino Martial Arts styles and systems, including: Inosanto Kali, Lameco Eskrima, Doce Pares, Kombatan, Balintawak, Pekiti Tirsia
What is an Arnisador in Full Circle Arnis de Mano?
A practitioner of Full Circle Arnis de Mano is called an Arnisador.
An Arnisador embodies the philosophy of balance, respect, and adaptability, walking a path of
peace while prepared to defend when necessary.

An Arnisador respects all forms of life and never believes themselves to be better than or lesser
than another, as we are all expressions of that which gives life.

An Arnisador never criticizes their brothers and sisters in the art, another style, or its practitioners.

An Arnisador maintains an open mind to learn new things and grow to be the best version of
themselves.

An Arnisador follows a peaceful path, but in life, we may be confronted at any time by an
opponent or opponents who have a temporary or permanent hate-dominated consciousness, a
mental illness, or a predator mindset.

An Arnisador honors the traditions and teachings passed down through the generations while
remaining adaptable to modern challenges.

An Arnisador strives for continuous improvement, balancing humility with confidence, and
maintaining discipline in training and in life
